Calgary Police Chief Rick Hanson Retires (verbal)
Council recognized Rick Hanson’s 40 years of policing as he retires this Friday.
2014 City of Calgary Employees’ United Way Campaign (verbal)
Council recognized City of Calgary employees for their efforts and contributions toward the 2014 campaign, raising a record $462,000 for United Way.
Evergreen Secondary Suite (item 8.1)
A secondary suite in the community of Evergreen was approved by Council.
Downtown Land Use Amendment (item 8.2)
A land use amendment was approved by Council to change a remnant parcel of land at 5 Ave. and 5 St. SW to the same land use designation as surrounding areas. This will allow for the site to be developed to a higher density.
Saddle Ridge Land Use Amendment (item 8.3)
An application was approved by Council for the comprehensive residential redevelopment of three acreages within the community of Saddle Ridge.
Shepard Industrial Policy Amendment (item 8.4)
A land use application was approved by Council to amend the land use of three parcels of land within Shepard Industrial. The changes will allow for the operator of the landfill facility located on the existing site to pursue possible expansion of its dry waste disposal and recycling facilities.
Hillhurst Policy and Land Use Amendment (item 8.5)
A land use application was approved by Council to re-designate thirteen residential land parcels on Memorial Drive NW to allow for a street oriented, multi-residential development.
Keystone Hills Area Structure Plan (item 9.1)
Council approved a Keystone Hills Area Structure Plan (ASP) amendment in order to allow the developer to further the completion of the development’s Construction and Financing Agreements (CFAs).
Vacant Positions Review – Councillor Notice of Motion (item 11.1.1)
Council approved a notice of motion directing that Administration undertake a review of vacant positions within The City and to explore related opportunities for cost savings. Administration will report back to Council by April 27th on its findings.
